The WMABA(Washington Metropolitan Auto Body Association) is offering a “Diagnosing Damage of Steering and Suspension“workshop, co-hosted by the Chesapeake Automotive Business Association in September, a Technical Presentation by John Shewbridge, Hunter Engineering.
If you own or work at a collision shop it’s more than likely you offer suspension and alignment repair. When a collision shop repairs a damaged vehicle – accuracy, knowledge, and equipment are the most important factors in repairing a vehicle to its preexisting condition. Your customer’s safety and extending the life of their vehicle is critical when choosing the right equipment. Hunter Engineering offers some of the most innovative equipment and advanced diagnostic technology on the market today with a 2019 NPS (Net Promoter Score ) of 98.7%.
When a vehicle is involved in an accident extreme collision force is placed upon the structure as well as related and/or attached systems such as braking, steering and suspension parts. When those systems are damaged from a direct impact or secondary damage movement, collision repair shops must be able to identify the damages early in the repair process to lessen delays in the completion of the vehicle, especially when ordering several parts to complete the repairs.
If proper testing is not done on these systems to verify their proper operations, advanced functionality may be overlooked. Damage could go unnoticed until the customer drives it and notices issues. Additionally, there may be safety issues in these critical systems, which may lead to extreme liability exposure for the shop and insurer. Frontal collision repairs are the most common making it especially crucial to ensure diagnostics are accurate to maintain safety standards when it comes to braking, acceleration, normal driving, and turning during vehicle operation. We stress again how important that a high level of knowledge by all parties understands what is required in the repair or replacement procedures of all automotive systems.
By attending the “Diagnosing Damage of Steering and Suspension”workshop, technicians will be provided with hands-on experience that will in turn enhance their knowledge. Learn valuable technical information about vehicle alignment and safety systems as well as how to integrate them more smoothly into your repair facility processes. Understand better equipment utilization, what to look for in diagnosis and how to categorize the data for documentation purposes.
