Recently, Shure Manufacturing workbench systems were put to the test with a Georgia School District school bus undergoing repair.

The Georgia School District transportation service department encountered a lift malfunction caused by a short in the lift control box causing one side of the lift to raise while unmanned.

Employees had gone home for the weekend only to arrive the following week to find the bus had been raised 3 feet before tipping over and landing on two Shure benches, a ShureShop^® Workbench and a Tear Down Bench.

Together the two Shure benches caught the 26,000 lb. bus before it landed on the concrete shop floor. Bruce Clark, Director of Transportation for the Georgia School District was amazed by the strength of the workbenches.

“If a bus falls onto the concrete floor and the roof supports are bent or destroyed, the bus is considered totaled.  Your benches saved us from buying a new bus, which is around $90,000.  We will definitely be ordering more of your benches!”
