Job Title: Service and Installation Technician

 

Job Summary:
Chesapeake Automotive Equipment is seeking a skilled and motivated Service and Installation Technician to join our team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the successful installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment for the automotive industry businesses we serve. The ideal candidate will have experience working with automotive equipment, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install automotive equipment such as lifts, compressors, and other machinery sold by Chesapeake Automotive Equipment.

  • Perform service and maintenance tasks on equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues in equipment.

  • Conduct site assessments to prepare for equipment installation or repair needs.

  • Work independently to complete service calls and installations efficiently and effectively.

  • Provide customers with clear and professional communication regarding equipment status, repairs, and usage instructions.

  • Maintain accurate service records, documentation, and reports for each job.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures during all tasks.

  • Manage tools, equipment, and parts inventory required for daily operations.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in related fields are a plus.

  • Proven experience in installing and servicing automotive equipment, including lifts and compressors.

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, with the ability to diagnose and resolve electrical issues.

  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with automotive shop environments.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 75 pounds) and work in various conditions, including tight spaces and outdoor environments.
